Project Type: Plastering, Drywall
General Contractor: Beck Group
The newest addition to the Old Parkland campus become a ‘classic’ as soon as it was completed. BakerTriangle has had several once-in-a-lifetime-projects, but we can add another to the list now. Old Parkland brought together the drywall and plaster divisions to collaborate on the extensive classical walls and ceilings.
The scope of the work for BT was extensive; beginning with the challenging exterior framing and the installation of light gauge trusses on buildings ‘A’ and ‘C’, installed to receive a prefabricated gutter system. Drywall project foreman Bobby Rommell used his valuable experience to coordinate both interior and exterior framing. As installation moved inside, the drywall crews installed various GRG shapes, domes and ceiling profiles at lobby entries, columns, column caps and bases.
Plaster foreman Jose Rodriguez installed GFRC shapes that were found in and around the plaster ceilings. Lathers suspended channel iron and metal lath ceilings to receive many types of plaster systems. The elliptical staircase has plaster walls and ceilings finished with beautiful Variance Venetian style plaster finish, becoming a focal point of the room.
